You’ve been tinkering with the Facebook Messenger app on your iPhone because you’re looking for the logout menu. But you can’t seem to find it so you ask Google, “How do I log out of Messenger on iPhone?”, and the number of suggestions frustrate you because none of them answer your question straight away.
First and foremost, there’s no way you can log out of Messenger on iPhone (Boohoo, Facebook!). Fret not! In this article, we will show you a surefire way to log out of Messenger on your iPhone. Facebook Messenger is a separate app from the main Facebook app. So if you’re confused why use the Facebook app to log out of Messenger instead of the Messenger app itself, know that you’re not alone because we, too, are not sure why Facebook is making it so hard for all of us. Here’s what you can do about it:
How to Log Out of Messenger on iPhone via Facebook App
Step 1: Open the Facebook app on your iPhone.
Step 2: Tap the navigation menu icon on the bottom-right corner of the screen.
Step 3: Scroll down and tap Settings & Privacy > Settings.
Step 3: Tap Security and Login under Security.
Step 4: Under the WHERE YOU’RE LOGGED IN section, tap See More. All active sessions will show up, including mobile and desktop Facebook and Messenger logins.
Step 5: Look for the Messenger session and tap the three-dot menu beside it. Tap Log Out to sign out your Messenger session.
When you open the Messenger app on your iPhone, you should see a Session Expired pop-up window asking you to re-login to renew your session. If you want to re-login, just click OK.
In the meantime, you can also choose to uninstall the Messenger app to force it to log out your session. When you reinstall the app, you will be asked to log in your credentials again.
