My friend just asked me about the solution for this problem and I realize many people out there are looking for the same thing.
That’s why I decided to write this post. Here I will provide you with two effective ways to download music/audio from Youtube and save them to your iPhone. You can do that right from your iPhone or by using your computer. Read on to see which method is the best for you.
Previously, I also explained how to download Youtube videos on iPhone. You can also check out that tutorial if you haven’t read it yet 😀
1. How to Download Youtube music to iPhone using Documents 5
Documents 5 is a free app on the App Store, which will provide you the ability to save files on your iPhone. I’ve mentioned this app a lot in previous articles. What you have to do now is to install it and then follow the instructions below to get music from Youtube.
Step 1: Launch the Youtube app, find the video you want to save music/audio from, and copy its link. (Tap on the Share button below the video and select Copy link)
Step 2: Launch the Documents 5 app, and switch to the built-in web browser by tapping the icon located on the bottom that looks similar to Safari.
Step 3: Go to https://www.onlinevideoconverter.com/mp3-converter. Paste the video link, select the file format you want to save (it offers both audio and video formats), finally tap Start. It will then generate the download link for you.
Step 4: Once the download link has been generated, tap Download. You will be able to save the mp3 to your iPhone. You can also choose to save to Dropbox. After the mp3 file is downloaded successfully, you will find it in the Downloads folder of Documents 5.

2. How to download Youtube music to iPhone using your computer
In this part, I will show you some extensions/add-ons to install on your web browser so each time you want to download mp3 files from Youtube videos, it will take no effort. Once you’ve downloaded these files, you can sync them to your iPhone using iTunes or cloud storage services.
Google owns Chrome and YouTube, and the legality of an extension that enables a user to rip the audio off videos is questionable at best. You’re most likely not going to find one on the Play Store.
Some website offers these extensions in packed files and you can install them in developer mode on Chrome. But I recommend you not to do this as using these packages are not surely safe. They may contain suspicious files that can invade your device and your privacy without you realizing it.
The best solution is to go to the website that offers audio download tool. Do a quick search for “Youtube to mp3” on Google and you will find tons of them.
If you’re using Firefox, then the good news is you can install the add-on named Simple YouTube MP3 Button. After this add-on is installed, it will take care of the rest.
Click here to download [Only with Firefox]
As you can see, the add-on adds a Download MP3 button next to the Subscribe button, making it much easier to download audio files.
