Live Photos are awesome. They can show the whole story, which normal photos sometimes cannot. However, they only work on iOS devices and Mac computers.
Although Live Photos are basically short video clips embedded into photos, if you try to send them to non-Apple devices, they will display as still images. So the only way to share Live Photos to your Android friend is to convert them into GIFs or a standard video clip.
Converting Live Photos to videos is better if you want to share your moments without losing quality. In this article, I will show you how to do so.
How to convert Live Photos into Videos
The Photos app in iOS 11 now has a built-in function that lets you convert Live Photos into GIFs. Unfortunately, Apple doesn’t add a similar function for videos.
However, we still have a plethora of apps that can let you make Live Photos into videos easily on the App Store. The app I’m going to show you in this article is LP – Convert to Video and GIF. It’s completely free and has no ads, watermarks, or in-app purchases
Step 1: Install the LP app from the App Store.
Step 2: Open the app and then grant it the access to your Photos app. LP will scan and show you all the Live Photos available in your Photos app.
Step 3: Choose the Live Photo you wish to convert into a video. The app will then let you convert it into a video, a GIF, or export a single frame to a still image. Now simply tap on “Save Video”, your resulting video will be saved in the Photos app.
The app only lets you convert your Live Photos to videos, no more, no less. If you want to trim, edit, or apply effects, then you should probably get a video editor.
That’s it! Now you can transfer the videos easily to your friends or share them on social media. Hopefully, you’ll find this mini tutorial useful.
